Last Thursday, February 10th, 2011, Nevada Zapponians met at the Silverton Casino for the Q1 All Hands Meeting. We talked about how the company did in 2010, updates to the announce plans for the move to downtown Las Vegas, team updates, company wide team building, and in true Zappos fashion…a happy hour!
To help “Build a Positive Team and Family Spirit”, the entire company shut down from 10:00am to 8pm PST. This allowed everyone, including those in the Zappos Customer Loyalty Team (CLT) to be a part of the festivities. If any of our customers called in during the absence of the Zappos CLT department, they were notified in our initial greeting, and of course, they could still choose the “joke of the day!” Since social media is so important for Zappos, we also tweeted that we would be away for the afternoon. We had an “all star” lineup of local leaders and officials from around the Las Vegas community. The Mayor of Las Vegas, Oscar Goodman , Sherriff Doug Guillespie, Andrew Donner CEO of Resort Gaming Group, Sam Gladstein -VP of Operations for Symphony Park, Myron Martin – President and CEO of The Smith Center, Jennifer Cornwaithe of Emergency Arts and The Beat Coffee House, and Cindy Funkhouser – Co-founder of First Friday’s. These leaders inspired all of us, and excited all Zapponians for the move. “Building Open and Honest Relationships with Communication” is one of the Zappos Family Core Values, so we want to share and connect with everyone by streaming the event live on the internet. If you didn’t get a chance to watch it live, check out the meeting agenda and recordings below: Agenda
