In an effort to visually back-up a paper case study of the Zappos Family, Harvard Business School (HBS) sent Tom and Dave armed with cameras to interview the employees and document the culture in action.

While they were here they checked out the annual “Vendor Party” (and the hangover cart to accompany it the next day), watched an incubation graduation, ate the bistro food in the Zappos Family lunchroom, and interviewed Zapponians from every department.

As you can see, spending a few days submerged in the Zappos Family culture zapped Tom and Dave, and we were glad to host them. We wish them lots of fun as they make their way to Kentucky and finish the multimedia case study.

Last Thursday August 28, 2010, the Zappos Family live streamed an “All Hands Meeting” from the Silverton Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

A few months ago, the Zappos Development blogs team started a committee that helped write, compose, produce, film and edit a music video! The mission was to create a video that would give everyone outside of the Zappos Family office and the Zappos Fulfillment Center a sneak peek into the culture. The video premiered at the quarterly All Hands Meeting last week, and now it has been released it into the wild world of the interwebs today! Check it out.

Want to see what happens at the Zappos Family All Hands? For the second time around, we are live streaming the entire event from the Silverton Casino Lodge in Las Vegas. It’s going to be a great All Hands, in true Zappos Family style: a lot of hard work, mixed in with some fun times (happy hour, anyone?).

The show starts today, August 26th at 1:00 pm PST/ 4 pm EST and there will be a special surprise guest speaker that not even the Zappos Family knows about. You will also hear from Zappos Family key players and find out what is going on and what’s coming up next.

Another First for Zappos.com, Inc.
On Monday April 26, 2010, Greg and Tamara, friends of Zappos Insights were married by Elvis on Monkey Row! We wish them the best, and we were so honored that they chose to have their wedding here. Greg proposed to Tamara on a tour of our offices a few weeks ago, and it is because they experienced great happiness while here that they decided to continue their wedding journey in the Zappos.com, Inc. office.

It was a beautiful ceremony and we were excited that they were able to join the Zappos Family all hands event afterwards to continue the celebration. Don’t worry if you could not make it to this event, Greg and Tamara are having another wedding celebration on July 4th in Denver, CO.
